PAX Android based POS devices allow for escalation of privilege via improperly configured scripts. An attacker must have shell access with system account privileges in order to exploit this vulnerability. A patch addressing this issue was included in firmware version PayDroid_8.1.0_Sagittarius_V11.1.61_20240226.

The attacker must have physical USB access to the device in order to exploit this vulnerability.

PAX Android based POS devices with PayDroid_8.1.0_Sagittarius_V11.1.45_20230314 or earlier can allow the signed partition overwrite and subsequently local code execution via hidden command. The attacker must have physical USB access to the device in order to exploit this vulnerability.

When installing the Net2 software a root certificate is installed into the trusted store. A potential hacker could access the installer batch file or reverse engineer the source code to gain access to the root certificate password. Using the root certificate and password they could then create their own certificates to emulate another site. Then by establishing a proxy service to emulate the site they could monitor traffic passed between the end user and the site allowing access to the data content.
